It was so inspiring. As I read the book I had a pad and pencil to write down some inspiring thoughts from the book. Rating:  - Not impressedHaving read the Book - The Shack - I have to admit that I was disappointed. After all of the hype concerning the fresh new approach I found the book to be a thinly veiled rehash of Catholic Doctrine. Mush of the content - whether you call it a parable or just pure fiction - was aimed at shoring up Faith Traditions that belong in the Middle ages not in the 21st century. I am no longer a devout follower. I am what some have called an alumni of the institutional Church. What this book didn't do for me was to inspire me or encourage me. As a retired ordained Minister of the Methodist Denomination I feel the Institutional Church is grasping at straws. This book is one more example of that grasping.The Shack Rating:  - SERVICE WAS NOT GOODI ordered this book 10/1/08. I have never received it and have written 3 emails with no response. Very poor service! Marilyn Rating: - The Shack- a work of fictionI enjoyed the book. Just remembering it is fiction. God is not a woman and HE doesn't talk like a southern woman. Jesus was GodMan not a man with no purpose. The Holy Spirit is a comforter and sent to us while we tarry for the LORD. If you remember that, you will be ok with reading it. Rating: - The Shack by William YoungI had heard about this book from a friend who said that it will greatly affect me after I read it. So, I had to check it out. Once I started reading, I found it very hard to put down and felt the emotion and intensity of every move. The book is really well worth the read and I do hope there will one day be a movie out.
