Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great deal!!!
They were fast and was a lot cheaper than a lot of the other vendors. The product was used but in great shape just like they said it was. I would certainly buy from them again.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Calculator
I bought this calculator for my grads math and engineering courses and it works perfect. There are some many features which make this probably the best calculator on the market. Yes, now TI launched the Nspire and Nspire CAS, but to be honest, those calculator are far away yet from the Ti-89 Titanium in one of the most important thing: support (programs, applications, etc). I'd wait at least two years to see if TI give more support for the Nspire series, meanwhile I think the Titanium is a powerful machine with advanced functions (numerical and symbolic) and a very decent memory for most of engineering applications.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Calculator
I'm an engineering student, and this calculator is a MAJOR UPGRADE over a TI-83/TI-84. It can do so much more once you learn how to use it, and it has helped me on my calculus homework more times than I can count.

It is a must have for any engineering/science student.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Highly Powerful, Versatile Graphing Utility
Before buying this TI-89 Titanium, I had been using a TI-86 (now discontinued) for about five or six years. I was hesitant to make the switch because I was so satisfied with my previous calculator, but was convinced of the 89's usefulness within the first week of using it.

The greatest improvement over the other lines of TI calculators (discluding the n-Spire series) is the Computer Algebra System (CAS). This comes in handy on a daily basis in my Physics and Calculus courses because it saves an unbelievable amount of time in grunt-work involving simplification of expressions and solving of equations. It is very easy to input equations manipulate variables with the way the menus are set up, and the system is quite fast and accurate.

Programming in the TI-89 is also streamlined as compared with the normal TI Calculator BASIC simply because of the added ability to pass arguments into programs and functions. Functions may also be defined in the homescreen and within the lines of a program.

As the built-in and downloadable features of this calculator are far too numerous for me to recount, I will say that they are all very easy to use, quick to learn, and useful in many different situations.

The only complaint I have about the calculator, in fact, has something to do with the CAS system and evaluating limits and such at infinity. Weird things can happen if you attempt to evaluate specific functions at infinity or differentiate or integrate specific equations. Because of this, you should verify that the calculator correctly evaluates or simplifies the type of equation or expression you enter. The errors in the system, however, are so few as to be considered negligible and will not be used on a daily basis anyway.

I highly recommend this calculator for anybody in any math or science class involving heavy usage of algebra or graphing. It is a very solid unit and can be used for many different purposes.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Get this calculator
The model I have was built in 1999. It is by far the best quality I've ever seen in an electronic device. I have used the keypad heavily for many years and there is not a single piece of lettering that has rubbed or scratched off. It performs well at all temperatures, depending on the quality of batteries. I've had if for 8 years never had a problem, will solve just about anything solvable, other than some stuff that can only be solved with computer programs like Maple.

Get this if your thinking about getting an 83!

It's much nicer to have equations that you can just scroll, select and renter certain variables out of long equations. Plus it can solve most complex equations, Integrate, Taylor Series ect. The maximum matrix size is 6x6, anything larger and I don't think you'd want a calculator.
I've programed many programs, it works really well. Although, if your going to do some serious programming step up to the 92. Some of the HP's are impressive too, but the 89 has been time tested and works.
