Rating: - 8gb san disk sanzaI purchased two of these as Christmas presents. Christmas day one of the two froze up. The tech's at San Disk tryed, but were unable to resolve the problem. It will be returned and replaced with a new one. Rating: - It CAN be fixed. When I first got my Sansa Fuze, I was worried. The sound quality didn't seem too good, the headphone jack was loose, and when I turned it up really loud it made a skipping noise like a CD player. I looked all over the internet and contacted the maker, trying to figure out what was wrong with it and how to fix it, and eventually decided I would have to return it. Then I discovered what the problem was: I thought the headphone plug didn't go very far into the jack, but I just didn't have it in the whole way! Many people, both on this site and others have complained about the skipping noise, and apparently that's what's causing it. The sound quality on this device is excellent, the menus are fine, and aside from a little inconvenience in the scrolling, I have no complaints. Just make sure you plug the headphones in the whole way. Rating: - Well satisfiedSanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB MP3 Player (Silver) I am very satisfied with the Sansa Fuze 8 GB MP3 player. It was everything I expected it to be. I would recomend this product to anyone that may be interested. Rating: - Works great for what I wantUp until recently I used a Palm TX as my mp3 player of choice. When I lost the power cord for it, I decided it was time to buy a new player and really liked this one (my uncle had one). First off, it's a good size for your pocket (even if you have small pockets). It's smaller than a credit card and only about 1/2 inch thick. You can keep it in your pocket without worrying about it jabbing you when you walk. I've stored approximately 20 full albums on this so far and I'm still not even halfway to filling the 8GB capacity. Fortunately when I do hit that capacity I can simply purchase an SanDisk 8GB MicroSD Card ( SDSDQ 008G A11M) and double the capacity (and they're now generally under $20). I haven't really tried to put any videos on it, but I believe doing so required downloading a converter from the website (sansa.com/downloads) and installing it on the computer. I attempted to do this earlier and got an error, but I don't know if my computer was to blame or the software. Either way, I bought it for music, not videos... and with a 2 inch screen, you'd have to be crazy to expect spectacular video. I did through the microSD card from my phone into it and the pictures looked surprisingly good on the little screen. When syncing to the computer (via included USB cable) you have two options: Sync with Windows Media Player. Or drag and drop files using the Windows folders. I chose the latter (mostly because I'm not a big fan of WMP). While connected to the computer, the unit begins to charge: THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO CHARGE THE SANSA FUZE - THERE IS NO WALL CHARGER. Or if there is, I've never seen one, and it definitely doesn't come with one. This would make traveling with it inconvenient if I didn't always travel with my laptop anyway. Also, when plugged into the computer you can't listen to the unit (though if you're already at a computer, you might as well listen to music on that, wouldn't you think?). I'm not much of an audiophile, but static bugs me a bit and I'm happy to say that I haven't noticed any yet. The built in FM radio is a very nice add-on and it sounds pretty good as well. Buyer beware: The battery is not replaceable. When it completes its cycle of life you will have to throw the player away and replace it. (Though I did come across a website that gave instructions on how to remove the battery, I don't know if there are replacement batteries available and it looked like quite a project). This is the only con I've come across at this point. I've also had it refuse to turn on once already but I remedied the problem by resetting it (holding the power slider up for 10 seconds). I do not recommend using the included headphones, but they didn't sound too terrible (I just don't like shoving things in my ears). Overall, I really like this little player. It isn't overpriced like the iPod, and it's packed with features (FM radio, video support, pictures, etc.). I would just watch out for two things: If you aren't near a computer regularly, you might want to choose a player with a wall charger; and you'll have to keep in mind that one day it won't turn on and you'll just have to say goodbye. Rating: - sansa playerDifficult to operate. Speaker connection is not dependable. Menu is not user friendly. When the skin is attached it is hard to operate the controls. Downloads are not easy or formats well supported. SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB MP3 Player (Silver) ReviewsMore reviews:Buy SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB MP3 Player (Silver) Sale Reviews Deals
