Rating: - Great by me,Easy to use...Great easy to use player, Drag and drop files and delete on the fly. FM radio and voice recorder a plus. If it only had games it would blow the I-pod out totally. Rating: - SanDisk FuzeI researched this product quite a bit before my purchase of it. I do love it, but there are a few of things I would improve. Firstly, when you are scanning artist or album, there is no way to begin from the end of the alphebet, which means that you have to start at the beginning and scroll and scroll...you get the point. Secondly, I miss the option of timed shut off. There is an option to do this, but if your play list is 4GB long, it will play through the list and won't shut off. If this feature does exist, I have not found it yet. Third and final, when radio stations are set, you can only scan your set stations one way, i.e. if you are on 90.1 and want 107.3, you have to go through all your set stations or scan and stop the other way. The sound quality is good, the visual is good, but there are some glitches. Rating: - Excellent little player for the price.Purchased this at an amazing price here on Amazon for Cyber Monday sale. I wasn't in the market specifically for a Sansa player when I bought it. I was looking for an MP3 player that had some sort of expansion via some type of flash memory, to replace an "evil fruit company" mini player that I had been using at work. Their replacement products seemed overpriced, were STILL not expandable, and had an annoying cult like fanbase. I just wanted an MP3 player, not join the "Church of Steve". So I did a search on Amazon, and found this little player. It happened to be greatly discounted from list and had all the features I wanted. I ordered it at the same time as an 8gb expansion card. When the unit arrived I was impressed with the "hand feel" of it. It seems well built, not made out of aluminum like my Ipod Mini, but still very nice. It is a bit darker in color than what is indicated by the standard photo above; more of a gun-metal grey than silver. It has some sort of rubber-y material covering the back of the unit, which is nice. So I powered it on, and tested it out. All the functions seemed to work fine with the content that was provided. I then hooked it up to my PC and deleted the existing content and filled it with my own using the provided copy of Pandora. I filled it with about 5gb of MP3's. All but two tracks copied over fine. I suspect those two tracks were already corrupted on my hard drive, I can't blame the unit for those. It took it about 15 minutes to copy all the files. The Fuze played the music back just as well as my Ipod mini. Since the unit does EVERYTHING that I wanted it to do, I attempted all the other features of the unit just to complete this review. I attempted to copy a video that I had in DivX format to the player, but I couldn't get it to work at all. From what I've read on here and on the Fuze forum, this is a fairly common complaint. Personally, I could care less about this feature; the screen is way to small for it to be an effective video player. I only purchased it as an MP3 player. The voice recorder seems to work fine. The radio works ok, but it doesn't get AM radio, and the reception indoors is pretty lousy. My only real complaint about the unit is the lack of accessories for it compared to the amount of accessories for the "evil fruit company" players. I wish someone would make a dock adapter for the Fuze. Pros: Great MP3 player for the price, well built unit, excellent battery life, easily expandable! Cons: Video support spotty at best, mediocre radio reception, lack of third party accessories. I would still highly recommend this unit for people who just want an expandable MP3 player. If you expect this unit to be a great video player, make you coffee, or save you money on your car insurance, you may want to look elsewhere. Rating: - After One Month, I'm Very HappyAfter a lot of research and price comparison, I decided to buy this MP3 player, and it was a great decision. Here are the aspects that I've been enjoying the most: - I don't remember what the method is called, but I love that you can put media onto the player without using their program. Programs are supposed to be user friendly, but I HATE them. I like that I have the freedom to open the player as a drive, then drag and drop my media. - If I'm halfway through a podcast, then switch to something else, it will give me the option to start the podcast later where I left off. - I can use my sandisk micro card to add memory. I basically have a 12 GB player for less than 100 dollars. - Battery life is pretty good, and it clearly let's you know what you have left. You don't have to make a general guess between 2/3 left and 1/3 left. - The media conversion software has worked well for me so far. - It has a radio built in, with the ability to record from the radio. It's bee great for me. Good luck with your choice. Rating: - Wonderful little gadget to view porn in publicThe SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB MP3 Player (Silver) is a well made mp3 player very much inline with the Ipod Nano but without requiring you to install a resource heavy application to hear your music. It's screen is bright and amazingly has decent resolution for video while he FM functions well but the mic is more a gimmick than useful way to breach nation security or blackmail colleagues. Those are the good parts, crap hits the fan when you try to upload videos. You have to install a media converter from Sandisk's website (because they are too busy to include it in the stupid mini cd they put in the box)that doesn't search for you so you have to muck about your hard drive trying to find The Watchmen Trailer that you have or you find out that Sandisk doesn't like your Realplayer so those videos are going to stay in the pc. I wouldn't gripe so much if the mp3 part was not so very easy. Just sync to windows media player drag and drop and start sync. also if you still remember the title of this review you should know that so far I have only been able to get my porn files to work. I am not sure if this is a condemnation or selling point. On top of that the conversion rate is slow. I tried converting 32 files and I literally fell asleep in my chair waiting for it to complete only to see it fail on the last 2 files. As i stated before the screen is bright and responsive but attracts fingerprints, dirt and pubic hair like a vacuum and if you forget to rename the files from say 1206.wmv to lets say Three chicks in bobby socks going at it in a gymnasium you'll only have thumbnail of the first frame to figure it out and a thumbnail on this screen is slightly larger than the X button on a browser. Also it is advertised as the SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB MP3 Player (Silver) but it is actually a rather dull gray which maybe a good thing since the only thing on it is mp3s and porn.
