By season 3, the shows were becoming formulaic and themes were being recycled. Unfortunately, the solution was not to fire the writers but to back-burner the primary actors. If the writers and producers had a bit more imagination and courage, they've got great characters and situations they could mine more deeply; instead, they chicken-out, content to skim the surface. Season 4 pushes the viewer's willing suspension of disbelief past the breaking point. Chase, an intensivist, becomes a skilled surgeon and Cameron, an immunologist, becomes a senior ER attending? Really? And they still want to work at the same hospital as House? Really? And then there's the ridiculous "reality TV" style interviews to replace House's team. Sure, it fits with House's love of games, but really? And, finally, while House nearly lost his friends, job, and freedom for Vicodin in Season 3, his Vicodin addiction seems to have virtually disappeared in Season 4. Really? Vote this season of House off the island. It deserves NO IMMUNITY. Rating: - House MD is awesomeHouse MD Season Four DVD set is very good and entertaining, my teenage son and I enjoy watching all the 4th seasons this Christmas season! Rating: - House Season 4House is an excellent show. Love watching the shows in sequence. If you are a fan of the medical shows this one will be a great choice. Rating: - Awful TV show and waste of moneyHow a show like this is still on the air is a mystery to me too. This show should have ended after probably 1 season - don't waste your money. A completely lame tv show. Rating: - FlaccidDidn't there used to be a time where House actually acted like a medical professional? In each successive season he turns into more of an obnoxious, cartwheeling kid who has free reign over the hospital. Like past seasons, House suffers from a bell curve of quality. It's clear to see that the good writers are in charge of the premieres and the finales and the rest is left to hacks accustomed to sweeps filler. Do I sound like I hate the show? No. Getting there, but no. Although I object to the new series regulars replacing the old ones (and the even more dubious choice of keeping the old ones around for guest appearances), I like the season's premise. The evolution of Amber's character was surprising and unexpected, owing to the talent of the aforementioned GOOD writers.
