when i got this set, i watched the dvd. i was astonished! david puts on such a production. every minute of the show was breathtaking. definately a must for all pink floyd / or david gilmour lovers. also, this could have been his last performance due to the death of richard wright.

I have not actually opened the CD yet, it's a Christmas gift for my husband, but we saw the video on TV a few months ago and it was awesome! So we're looking forward to watching it again soon.

Rating: - Gilmour Does It Again
On August 26, 2006 David Gilmour was invited to play a concert at the Gdansk Shipyards in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Solidarity. Gilmour ended his On An Island Tour with this show which features the Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zbigniew Preisner.

The package features the entire concert on two CDs. The main focus of the concert was a full presentation of Gilmour's On an Island material with the Orchestra. Also featured is material from the Pink Floyd catalogue. The highlight of this material is a stunning live version of Echoes featuring the late Richard Wright in one of his last live appearances.

The third disc features a video of highlights from the concert. This disc leaves out a good deal of the Pink Floyd material but is still a great document of the show. It has a running time of about two hours. The disc also features a making of featurette called Gdansk Diary which also covers some background on the Solidarity movement in Poland.

More performances are included on a fourth disc. These performances include highlights from the Island tour recorded at the Mermaid Theatre in London, The AOL Sessions in New York and Live at Abbey Road. The performances are rounded out by three "Barn Jams" recorded at Gilmour's home in Sussex.. The fourth disc also includes a DTS mix of the album ON An Island.

Once again Gilmour has given the fan an affordable package with a great wealth of material. Highly recommended.
