Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Lots of options, not for the faint of heart.
This is by far the most comprehensive photo program that I have worked with. It is not intuitive and comes with very little instruction. There is some on-line at their site, but that is difficult to wade through. Even with the "Phtoshop Elements 7 for Dummies" book, you need a strong drive to want to learn it. The next thing that is important with this program is that you need an adequate computer and memory to work with any efficiancy.
But--- having said all that if you work at learning what can be done there is a lot that can do with your photos to improve them or play with them.
It will take work to learn, but the possibilities are unbelievable.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Smart software usage.
Here's my two cents and it has worked effectively all these years.

Have two computers, one for daily use, i.e. web/internet surfing and emails, and another for photo-editing/word processing/special software purposes. This may sound expensive at first but in the long run, it's more cost-effective.

In one computer, once you have your software, e.g. Photoshop, Microsoft Office (whatever version) opened up by its manufacturer online and you have these softwares working effectively for your purposes, do not, I mean, DO NOT open or use this computer for web/internet surfing. Disable this computer's network connection. Reason: the updates we receive periodically are good but at times, disable the old softwares' drivers/features without the consumer's consent, hence, we encounter all sorts of problems mentioned in this site's blogs.

I have Photoshop Elements 3 and Photoshop 7 with a Wacom Intuos 2 tablet in XP environment and all have been problem-free. In this computer, I also have the old Microsoft Office 97. This computer's network connection has been disabled.

Fine Fotos

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Wondering
I just add this as a cautionary tale: I had version 5 and 6 and both had bugs with mapping in the album function (basically it would lock up when you had too many pictures mapped). I like to map all of my pictures. I raised the issue with both versions (and bought version 6 specifically because I thought it might address that). It's still never been addressed in either version; and i know other users have similar problems; and its been a problem for me on different computers... so I know its not just my computer. I find it disgraceful that they can sell the product with that issue for 2 versions and not fix it. I don't have 7 but just wanted to let people know they didn't address issues with the alblum portion in the last 2 releases; and it sounds like this version is quite similar and may likely have the same problem.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Adobe Photoshop Elements 7
I upgraded to AP Elements 7 when my copy of AP Elements 2 just refused to open and no support was available. I like most features of the new version but I am disappointed with look of the program on the screen with the toolbars and menus all having a dark grey background and a small dim font lacking contrast from the background.

Amazon offers good value and service, so I was surprised to this product offered a week later by a national office store for 25% less.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Easy!
I've used Adobe Photoshop Elements before, both 4 and 5. This one is easy to use and will provide additional guidance on how to do things if you want or need it. I think the red-eye removal tool is even better than the versions I've used before (works great even when the subject is wearing glasses). I've used the color correction, blemish removal, and cropping as well and been very pleased. I haven't done more complicated editing yet, but am confident that the guidance provide will make it an easy task.
